WHO WE ARE

Since 2005, UMC has been working closely with local governments by providing tailor made solutions in professionalising urban management. With our understanding of adult learning pedagogies, capacity building and training, we work towards building individual and systemic capacities of cities.

We have supported local governments across South Asia and Africa by providing technical assistance while facilitating good governance by encouraging peer-to-peer exchanges and providing practitioner-based assistance that resulted in sustainable solutions.

We work collaboratively towards achieving the mission. Our team of experts is a unique mix of sectoral capacities to be able to respond to interdisciplinary development challenges. Same is reflected in our deliverables across the spectrum of WASH, livelihoods, heritage management and institutional restructuring.

UMC group of organizations – Urban Management Centre and Urban Management Consulting Pvt Ltd. started working in 1997 and, were later registered in 2005 and 2007 respectively.

UMC is an affiliate partner to International City/County Management Association (ICMA).
