COVID-19 Resources

Every day, millions of workers reach out to lakhs of households, pick up their trash, sweep the streets, clean public toilets, empty septic tanks, and pits, and help maintain wastewater treatment plants.
As a responsible society, we need to ensure Safety and Dignity in Sanitation Work and the sanitation workers from getting infected so that they not only continue to provide crucial sanitation services but also prevent inadvertent spread of the infection. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs have issued an advisory for the safety of sanitation workers serving hospitals and those handling domestic waste from quarantined households.

To reach a wider section of sanitation workers, the Urban Management Centre has developed video films and posters to spread awareness amongst employers including ULBs and private service contractors and sanitation workers handling solid and liquid waste.
