Urban planning is the most essential and technical process of designing an urban area and its environment with all infrastructural amenities available. UMC has expertise in urban planning with a team that comprises large number of urban planners who are involved in various projects aimed to develop existing urban areas. UMC works on data collection, research, analysis, documentation, designing, consultations and management - all important aspects of urban planning. The organization helps local government bodies to create and update their base maps with Geographical Information System (GIS) and the accompanying tools and to use these spatial plans for improved decision making. UMC helps cities prepare long term strategic plans for overall development and growth of a city through consultative processes.

  • UMC is in the final stage of a project to prepare City Development Plans for 7 cities in Madhya Pradesh
  • UMC provided technical help to Afghanistan’s Municipal Strengthening Program and helped prepare a manual for the same
  • UMC formed a partnership between two US cities and the cities of Cuddalore and Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu for reconstruction and redevelopment after the tsunami
